Ana Sequeira
Associate Professor & Lab Lead
Ana M. M. Sequeira is an Associate Professor at the Australian National University and a leading marine ecologist specialising in the movement and conservation of marine megafauna such as whales, sharks, and turtles. She is also an adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia. As the founder and director of the global MegaMove initiative, Ana develops innovative data-driven approaches to track animal movements and inform marine conservation strategies worldwide. Her collaborative research has earned her prestigious awards, including the Fenner Medal and a Pew Marine Fellowship, and she is recognised for her leadership in advancing marine science, fostering interdisciplinary partnerships, and supporting the next generation of researchers.
