Lab Lead Ana Sequeira has contributed to a White Paper for the Oceans Decade Vision 2030 process.

Sequeira Lab lead Assoc Prof Ana Sequeira has contributed to a recent White Paper on protecting and restoring marine ecosystems and biodiversity.
This White Paper is part of the Vision 2030 process undertaken in the framework of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (‘Ocean Decade’) and it has emerged from the Ocean Decade Challenge 2: Protect and restore ecosystems and biodiversity Working Group.
The Working Group is led by two expert co-chairs, Professor Frank Müller-Karger and Professor Dato Dr Aileen Tan Shau Hwai, and comprises 20 international experts, including Ana.
The White Paper highlights key recommendations for achieving long-term ocean health, including public-private partnerships, co-designing ecosystem observation networks, and adopting innovative technologies for biodiversity monitoring. It also promotes inclusive and place-based ecosystem approaches to bridge science and policy, emphasising the critical role of Indigenous and local communities.
A big thank you and kudos to the entire Working Group 2 for their contributions and efforts to this collaborative work!
